I played track 16 for my 50-60yr old neighbors from Oklahoma. Living high up in the california mountains above the methed-out city of oroville, they exist stuck in a perpetual time warp and largely consist some of the most backward, bigoted hillbilly rednecks ever to grace my presence. Often embarrassed and disgusted by their comments towards anything and anyone of a race other than ours (or anyone deemed not white enough), I’ve made many attempts to bring some sort of reason and compassion to their blatantly racist views. In the end, despite my pretty much constant shaming and chastising, this song was by far the most effective argument i was able to conjure up. It left them completely speechless, which, believe you me, is quite a rarity. I now play it everyday at full volume in my parked car at the top of the property with all the doors open haha! Thank you mr. styles, truly awesome.
