After the ‘90’s, crap albums, and no Taylor’s..THEY ARE BACK to the band I loved in the ‘80’s! Astronaut wasn’t released yet, but ‘Sunrise’ is included on this album. Great song, and a return to Duran Duran!
  • Great concert but some things are really missing....

Like some had previously said about DD is def. bettter in age and its very good that this had happened while the 5 had reunited again just for a lttle while. Furthermore, I do enjoy all of these newer, fresher live cuts of much of my favorite songs too. However, one key problem in this item, this is NOT the full concert as a lot of songs were subsequently cut off like : Night Boat, Come Undone, Is There Something I Should have done?, and The Reflex to name a few. Do please download/upload the WHOLE full concert rather than the 2 bonus tracks, please...if you eventually have this full concert to buy........I will give this the full 5 stars....this is more like 4.5 stars if I could in the end of my own review at the present time.

I saw this tour when it hit Everett, WA in 2005 and I can say two things for sure: the band has never sounded better and every single person I saw in the arena were having the time of their lives. Critics and music snobs resist referring to Duran Duran as "legendary" but in my mind this concert cemented their legend for the ages. Touring behind one of their best releases in "Astronaut," they looked and sounded better than at any time since 1984 and in my humble opinion they were at their absolute best. I'm willing to discard what anyone else may define as credibility to say that Duran Duran are spectacular musicians making relevant music that only gets better with age - as do they. I can't wait for the rest of the new album to be released because if "All You Need Is Now" is any indication, it will be a great one.

Some things get better with age, and DD is no exception.

Ah Duran...if ever a band were greater than the sum of their parts it's these guys. Like a bumble bee that technically should not fly but somehow does, what you get here is an entirely predictable track listing, Simon's slightly breathy & less-than-pitch-perfect vocals, Nick's plinky-plonky "keyboard" work, Andy's guitar ever-threatening to turn up to 11, Roger keeping up with the click-track and John chugging away amongst it all. Toss in the obliatory "awright, ouse-it-goin?" between song banter and you've got DD live...and of course it's all fabulous not-fattening guilt-free fun! Not to be taken seriously, but to be enjoyed mightily. Mind you after the cacophanous mess that was their recent Hammerstein show in NYC, this sounds like Frank Zappa conducting XTC.
  • Catchy, but some not.
