Beautiful rendition of a Prince classic…well really the entire “Welcome 2 America” release is worth the wait…if you’re giving a bad review - you’re clearly not one of the “OG’s”😁…he’s SO much more than the “Purple Rain”era…#respectheicons #realmusic #realmusicians #vocalrangeicon💜♊️

I am a huge fan but have to say I was not expecting much but the lyrics 11 years ago hold up in what is going on today. Brilliant album. I recommend listening to it all the way through two times in a row.
Prince Was Ever Evolving and I Love It

Where this album fits in Prince's canon depends on which version of this changeling of an artist you are most enamored with. While I have opinions about where this might fit, not sure those opinions matter. What I will say is that this ranks pretty high for me because it is a challenging listen, an evolution of his musical lexicon (which is vast), exquisitely performed and a refreshingly different approach for him as a bandleader. These qualities always make for a strong Prince album for me.
This album is okay.

This album is okay. If Prince, we're still alive, he might have done a little more production on this album.
Some I like, some I don’t

I can’t name the songs because I haven’t had time to sit and just listen as I would like, but there are some songs on here I really enjoy. Hot Summer is definitely among them. It took me a while, but I finally figured out where that organ part came from. Listen to Hot Summer and Graffiti Bridge’s Shake! 🤯 Both songs are jams for me.
I think part of what makes us like or not like albums is what’s going on in our lives at the time. So far, it’s been a good summer. I’m attaching these songs to fun memories, which will help me pull them up later to enjoy.
I C y he didn’t release it

All the songs seem experimental. Too much female background vocals gave the songs a Kirk Franklin vibe. There are no outstanding songs that would be considered as a hit single and none of songs had any impact in a way that, for example “Dreamer” from Lotus Flower has. I know you know that he knew he could do better. RIP Prince, You are truly missed.

Xscape came out 7 years ago and still beats all of Prince’s posthumous albums

Not the best of Prince. The worst. Where are the great tracks in the vault.. I’m a real Prince fan and a artist, this is not what I was excited.

This was during the Larry Graham brainwash era. Music created to fit a created narrative.

Not one of his best. Not by a long shot. I see why it was scrapped.
