Epic return to form for prog rock legends. It sounds like a new take on old school Dream Theater. Lots of influences (including Steve Morse on A Broken Man). Amazing introspective lyrics and the usual spectacular instrumentation. James LaBrie is in fine voice. Just 100%!

I loved Dream Theater better with Mangini. Not my favorite album but it is nice and I like it. Portnoy does nothing for me.

This album takes me back to when I was a teenager first discovering Dream theater it is amazing like all of their other work but the fact that Mike Portnoy is back and on this album just makes it perfect It’s a must listen!
  • Classic Dream Theater Evolved

This is what we would expect having the 5 brothers back together again. This album brings new creativity, while hitting on all the classic elements any long term DT fan would want. If you loved Scenes from a Memory the first time you heard it, this will make you feel the same way. JP’s guitar solos and riff are amazing and fresh along with Portnoy’s signature influences all over the album. Production quality is outstanding. The lyrics are written so well and James’ vocals are indeed incredible and sound excellent. It’s a gift for the fans!

Ok, they guys (founders are back) and they put their all into this one. It is heavy and drark and beautiful. Is is Scences from a Memory or Six Degrees of Inner Turbulance? No, but it is still awesome new music from an amazing band. Listen to this abum loud and in it's entirety and it grows and you hear more and more with each listing. Love it.
  • Generic unevolved rock

Whoever thinks DT were around long before Metallica doesn’t know their history. This is boring 80’s butt rock that could be on anything they released from then. It’s awful. I hate Metallica these days, don’t get me wrong. But at least they’ve changed their sound. DT think bringing back a drummer who’s not even as good as the one that replaced him years ago is a big deal? Yawn.

As all of you should know, THE SINGLES DO NOT MEAN THE ALBUM IS GOING TO SOUND EXACTLY LIKE THEM! That's why you have to listen to the whole album in order to know what you like. This is what I've learned after being a Dream Theater fan for over 14 years now! This album is fantastic. Definitely loved the intro instrumental song, Midnight Messiah and Dead Asleep. They made a tremendous comback with Portnoy here!
