I think this album is very creative. I admire their work, but I highly doubt this is what the music would have sounded like back then. This album has a very European sound to it. It is more like the music the modern Westerner would image while looking at ancient Egyptian artifacts. I doubt that they would have sang in an operatic style.

I was visiting the Cleopatra exhibit at the Field Mueseum in Chicago when I came across this cd. It was made from music that was uncovered during a dig. They recreated instruments painted in heiroglyphs and set about to then recreate what they interpreted as how the music sounded then. It's like stepping back in time...
