I saw the original cast in their Washington D.C. pre-Broadway tryouts (Patti LuPone et al.) at the Kennedy Center. I have the original cast recording on vinyl (but no record player) and it always bothered me, because I vividly remember the bread song, and how they pumped the smell of fresh baked bread through the house. It's nice to see the entire piece together the way it should have been, and to share more of the under-rated talents of Stephen Schwartz. A great score with some incredible songs!

not many people know this play, but we did it for our high school musical and it was soo amazing-- the songs are catchy too!

It's too bad not many people know about this musical.. it seems brilliant, and anything with the music of stephen shwartz has to be.
