I've seen Chanticleer perform many times, and I especially enjoy their Christmas concerts. Their performances are magical, and they always push the bounds of musical achievement, both live and in their recordings. Highly recommended.

After seeing Chanticleer live in concert, I knew that the Christmas Album would be far beyond anything I could imagine.....and I was right. This album is AWESOME. If you need something to get you in the mood for the holidays this is it. Buy it.

Check out 'Holiday Cheer'--you'll hear a funny combination of Jingle Bells with Stravinsky's 'Rite of Spring'--I'm pretty sure you don't have THAT version. Other tracks have clever and unusual arrangements, too. Get a CD and give it as a gift at a holiday party instead of a bottle of wine or send it from itunes! Ho Ho Ho and all that stuff......
  • A Brilliant Recording from The Premier Mens' Choral Ensemble

Chanticleer reaches out to a more mainstream audience with their newest Christmas album, and it is a treat. From pop, to jazz, to traditional choral selections, this album shows why Chanticleer IS the premier male choral ensemble. The brilliant, rhythmic and original "God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen/Feliz Navidad" arrangement highlight this magnificient holiday cd. This is a great cd to introduce you to a fantastic ensemble, and to hopefully coax you into listening to some of their earlier, more traditional holiday recordings.
