These guys are incredible. I have loved them since I first heard them on cassette tape back in the '80's. I am so glad to finally find them on iTunes. If you love good jazz, you'll love this album.
At last!

I was in my first year of college when someone introduced me to Koinonia - the live "Celebration" album. I was so thrilled.. being the nutcase i tend to be when i hear chords and sounds that blow me away, I probably memorised every single percussion, drum beat, bass line and sound on that album.. i must have played it hundreds of time.. it remained embedded in my mind and heart for years. I was devastated when my treasured tape couldn't play anymore.. and i embarked on a concerted search that lasted well over 15 years. Finally 3 years ago, I came across a sellar in Germany who sold me a vinyl copy. It cost me close to a hundred bucks and the day it arrived in Ethiopia, where i was living and working at the time, i was so thrilled, i came close to tears. To cut a long story short (trying to have it converted to mp3 as i had no record player), I'm still so so very happy with every single note on that album. It's an all time favorite of mine. I've waited for a looong time to find songs from the other albums.. and seeing some of them here on iTunes is just about the best thing that happened to me today! I remain a huge fan.. even though the band doesn't exist anymore..

This is an exceptional group. If you like Spyro Ghyra, Shadowfax etc. This is for you. I had all of their LP's and changed them to MP3 via computer. This is great that, finally, itunes has picked up this group. These are many of their best songs, but they still have so many more (still just on LP). Back in the 80's, it was a real treat to find such accomplished musicians playing Christian music in the jazz genre. Hats off to this group and and to I-tunes for finally getting them available.
