Vanessa Williams may be the most under appreciated Female Vocal Talent ever. Her unique take on most songs makes it fresh, fun, and takes it to a new level of vocal perfection. Her timing, phrasing, nuance, verve, and interpretations are even better than the originals. I have been a big fan for a long time and when I listen to this CD I know I am listening to The Miss America of Divas. Never Can Say Goodbye, Midnight Blue, and First Time Ever I Saw Your Face are my three favorites on this CD. My favorite duet of all time is With You I'm Born Again. This is a Must Have CD for Female Vocalist Afficianados and will be in your top 5 for ETERNITY.

All due respect to Malachite...but I think you missed it on this one. I (and it seems others) feel Vanessa nailed it. Yeah, we've heard these all before, but Vanessa did them with her flair. Perhaps I was so taken by the smoothness of her renditions I didn't notice the production flaws. Nonetheless I have and continue to recommend this collection to anyone looking for good adult R&B. I love this CD and look forward to hearing the songs on my Pod. Take Care...One Love!
SIMPLY MARVELOUS

This CD is absolutely marvelous. I like new renditions of old songs and Vanessa’s really deliveries a great blend of R&B and Jazz on this project. The remake of Stevie Wonder’s “Send One Your Love” is by far my favorite. A lot of artist does projects like this only to fall short (Like Patti Labelle’s Classic Moments CD – sorry Patti fans) but this CD is all I expected to be. Thanks Vanessa’s for giving us an Everlasting Love.

Vanessa fooled with this CD. She lost me after the rrelease of "Next". So, it did take me awhile to finally hear her version of "You Are Everything" and her duet with George Benson (a beautiful blending of voices). I finally purchased it . Now have Vanessa's playlist wih me were ever I go.
Ms.Williams, I've come back. Thank you for a great CD and a beautiful cover!
Excellent Album

I have been a Vanessa Williams fan since her first album. She is amazing and underrated. She pulls no tricks- simple straight forward music on this new album. Her voice is silky smooth and this is not "over produced". I love it. Thanks Vanessa :)

I'm really feeling this CD. I'm glad I came across this on iTunes, becuase I never thought I'd get this. I thought this was one of those Disco albums... totally not the case. Big Suprise. She does RUFUS' version of the song "Everlasting Love." & does a really good job.

Everlasting Love is an album of love songs from the 70's. Most artistes do cover past songs but what makes this album stand out, is the soulful feeling you get when you listen to it. It is simply beautiful. When Vanessa sings Midnight Blue, you may just find your self smiling and appreciating the love of that special someone. Music is supposed to enact passion and Vanessa has done wonderfully well with the material chosen. The single "You're Everything" and the Issac Haynes "Never can say goodbye" are two really powerful love songs that are timeless and Vanessa's captured emotion makes the album of love songs an Everlasting one.
The Rise and Fall of a Beauty Queen...

Vanessa, Vanessa, Vanessa... when will we see YOU again, not what your producers think you should be doing?
This album reminds me of the quintessential beauty pageant flop... just bear with me for a moment...
She nails the talent portion flawlessly, delivering the tunes in true Vanessa WIlliams fashion - silky, smooth, and mellow; she easily passes the swimsuit competition; her ageless beauty still shines through in all its radience; she wows the judges with her interview - the songs chosen for the compilation are excellent selections, full of potential...
Then comes the evening gown competition, and she falls on her face quite painfully in a hideous chartreuse and pink gown by means of obtuse and lackluster production and gaudy musical acoutrements - this compilation's greatest weaknesses.
There are just way too many flaws to point out - whether it be the music not fitting the song (You are Everything), or the song just just not sounding aurally pleasing altogether (I'll Be Good to You). This album on an intrensic level had so much potential, but the wrong mix of singer/producer can make even the most classic piece seem paltry.
Standouts on this album are "Never Can Say Goodbye" which takes The Jackson's hit and coats it in silk, making it the wistful, lamentatious song it was meant to be; "Harvest for the World", a retooling of The Isley Brothers' classic hit that actually infuses the song with new life and new energy; and "First Time Ever I Saw Your Face", an interpretation that is sure to make even Roberta Flack applaud in admiration and respect for her talent.
Hopefully, Vanessa will return to what she does best - upbeat, positive danceable music.
