A step back to the seventies

If you have heard the Kruger brothers and their amazing musicianship in concert and have decided to buy an album of theirs stop. This is not the one for you. This is the Krugers taking a step back into some sort of black hell hole and they seem a bit lost in doing so. Think Burt Bacharach meets the Kingston Trio with some dashes of brilliant banjo playing but not enough meat to really satisfy a carnivores palate. Ewe's singing is crisp, right on target as always, but Jens banjo playing seems distant and bored. The song selection is mediocre at best and one is left wondering what they were thinking. If you want a couple of great albums check out Up 18 North, Choices, Travel the Gravel, the Bridge and Jen's solo (sort of - it's the same duo backing him) Profile. These are all outstanding CD's just...Please. Do yourselves a favor and stay away from this bland disc unless you're in need of an expensive coaster.
