If I was stuck on an island and could only have ten albums, this would be one of them.

I've jammed to fugazi close to 18 yrs now & there music is the type of music for the ages. I know it would teach a ton of these Gaga & Swift fans what real music is all about. Punk has always brought me straight up outta my seat to jamming every time & I'm suppose to over the hill, but Fugazi seems to be the best medication. Best band to ever hit punk. Hands down...

Saw these guys back in the day. Still one of the best shows I've ever seen. I listen to all kinds of music, but this album never gets old. Great lyrics
  • Ok...

The guy below me obviously knows NOTHING about Fugazi. "The singer" happens to be Ian MacKaye who previously sang in Minor Threat, and if you thought THIS was "angry" and "done by a bunch of angry 14 year olds", you obviously have never heard Minor Threat. If you did, you would be PRAISING this record (even though I personally LOVE Minor Threat). Now I am 14 and love both Minor Threat and Fugazi, but I am in no way "angry" or have "undeveloped emotions". I know guys who are in their 40s who love both bands (who were original fans) and they're completely normal. I will say that Ian's voice is very distinct and not everyone will appreciate it (like you). I think it would be more appropriate if you had said you "didn't care for his voice" than call him "tone deaf".
  • Mildly less painful than their other albums

Like I said, this album is only mildly less painful than their other albums. There are a couple songs where the singer actually approaches what one would call "singing" instead of petulantly screaming like a child throwing a tantrum. In the only song of theirs that i'm actually keeping, Bad Mouth shockingly features coherence. Overall, though, this stuff is still pretty awful. With the worst being Glue Man. Most of this experience is just annoying. Featuring repetitive choruses and a total lack of melody for most of the album, it's just noise. It just feels like mindless angst recorded showing that these band members have pretty adolescent and undeveloped emotions in that they have only these topics in their hearts, heads, and instruments. No range and no depth. Appealing only to overgrown teenagers stuck in their angsty youth. The image I get from this album is that it's like they're a bunch of tone deaf and angry 12 year olds whose parents bought them instruments and equipment. Those few coherent songs are the tracks that sound like they recorded them when they were 14, after 2 years of practice. Maybe 10 more years from now they'll be able to sing and have more than one thought and emotion?

IMPORTANT AND BUTT-KICKING AT THE SAME TIME...ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT ROCK RECORDINGS OF ALL TIME...MONSTER HOOKS...THE FIRST TIME I GOT THIS BEFORE THE "13 SONGS" VERSION WAS AVAILABLE...I WORE THE WORDS OFF OF THAT CASSETTE..THEN DID THE SAME WITH THE "MARGIN WALKER EP"

  • Ian has never SOLD OUT...

and the reviewer who said Ian did is uncool and knows little about Fugazi and music. This album ,to me, is what punk is and will always be. What a band and what an album. I still listen to this twenty-some years after high school, and NO " punk" band has ever topped it. NONE. If you love music that is passionate, this is for you. Fugazi is a one-of-a kind band that the world will never see again.
  • $5.00 Fugazi

Probably their best effort, it makes you wonder with major label backing just how big Fugazi could have been. The world will never know for obvious reasons that they refused to sell out to a larger audience. I remember seeing these guys a couple times. The concert ticket price was always $5.00 and merch was affordable. It was a great idea but you just have to wonder what this band could have been. This record has 3 of the best Fugazi tracks Waiting Room, Bulldog Front and Bad Mouth. These hit you hard to start off but the restof the record doesn't finish as great as it begins. However, an absolute 4-star none the less.
