From the title I "thought" I was buying 99 cello solos, or at least cellos only. Unfortunately that not the case. It's all very good music but much of the album is full orchestra.

It's been three or four weeks since I've learned how to play the cello. I am in love with the cello and when I came across this album, I begged my mom if I could buy it. I love all the pieces in this album. A must have.

This is a solid collection of some of the best works for cello. Truly surprised by the quality of the selection AND the performances! Definitely a "must get."

I usually shy away from these "1,876.3 Classical necessity" albums, generally because they include a movement of one thing, 5 minutes of another sort of thing. I was pleasantly surprised when I came across this album, including everything from Debussy to Khachaturian, CPE Bach's concerto to Chopin, and not to mention every movement of them. (If I had to add a negative comment, it would be that the "99" includes movements, but whatever) For anyone, enthusiast looking to add major cello works to their collection or cellist looking for a recording to have on hand, I recommend this- especially cellists, as basically every piece on this album is very much worth having in your repertoire. The recordings are all top notch, many of which I never would have heard otherwise and add interesting new ideas when it comes to interpretation, or at the very least I can listen to them whenever now. So if you think you'll ever need a recording of any major cello work, I say spend the $8 just to say you have most of them. And then practice. :)
