Naked Truth

This was by far her best cd yet!! I am the biggest lil kim fan and i was stuck on hardcore. but after hearing this cd i am convinced that this is better than the first!!!! I dont know what people were expecting to hear and i must admit it took a lil minute for the cd to grow on me but i am in love with it.......and besides in a year shell have more material and better story lines so yall haters better watch out cause shes gonna be back!!!

This is the reason foxy brown's album hasnt been released. Anything she does will not come close to lil kim's albums. Accept your fate foxy, your a gold record seller. Lil kim is all platinum!!!!!!

This record is very disappointing. It has a few good tracks but it doesn't live up to her past works. She doesn't say anything new on this record, it almost sounds like a collection of tracks that didn't make it on her last two records. and is it just me or does she look white on the cover!!!???

Even though Lil Kim's goin to jail she still had enough time before that to make a good album Top 5 Songs Are: 1. Lighters Up 2. Spell Check 3. All Good 4. Kitty Box 5. Durty

This album is hot! With me being a DJ, I know what's good. Pick this album up. Many good tracks and many good beats. Her vocals are sick also. Pick this album up!

The Source gave it 5 Mics... hmmm. Could that have to do with her dissing 50 Cent quite heavily on this CD? Or with the fact that she graced the magazine's latest cover? I really doubt they seriously believe "The Naked Truth" deserves such accolades. The first Lil' Kim album, Hardcore, remains her best - maybe because Biggie Smalls was still alive and was able to contribute (lyrically...?) to the effort. The Notorious KIM and La Bella Mafia were not as good, but had great beats on some songs and some truly original gems. Alas, this album offers even less. The beats are OK but not stellar (you'll find no star producers on here either), and Kim's topics are basically "leave me alone/mind your own business" and "I'm the sh**" throughout the whole CD. No storytelling songs (like the great "Not Tonight" original version, or "Little Drummer Boy" with Redman and Cee-Lo); no great metaphors, similes or even half a deep message in any song. She does excell at dissing though, so if you're into the whole beef machine you might like portions of this album. Be that as it may, recycling Biggie's rhymes has gotten very tired - not a wise choice to do it as repeatedly as Kim does on here.

Well I never really liked Lil' Kim but over the years she's had a few good songs... So I decided to finally peep one of her album's. Only Lil' Kim cd I own, The Naked Truth. Here's my review: The Naked Truth: 1. Intro - Just a skit... nothing special here... 2. Spell Check - Perfect song right here... Flow is on key, beat is hot. Hot chorus too. Probably my fav. song on the album though. 3. Lighter's Up - Another gangsta track... She kind of stealing Yayo's flow from when he did the "Murrrda" freestyle. But this is hot! "Put ya lighters up!" 4. Shut Up B**** Intro - Another skit... 5. Shut Up B**** - The beat is poppin!! Her flow is sick here! You could roll to this... Prob. my 2nd fav. song. 6. Whoa - Hmm... I don't like this track... Sounds like man kind of on here. She's going to hard with her flow. And they chorus sucks too... Reminds me of some pop crap... Skip... 7. Slippin - Nah... skip that one too... It feels to jazzy. And how many times is she gonna talk about Junior Mafia?? Another annoying chorus also. 8. Answer Machine Skit 1 - Another dang skit... 9. All Good - Again she sounds like a man on here. Also has a weak beat... Trying to diss 50 again but another failed attempt. And the chorus is yet again garbage... 10. I Know You See Me - Nice beat... Nice flow... This is a good track. Chorus is decent. I'd turn this one up. 11. W.P.I.M.P. - Getting dang tired of those stupid skits... 12. Okay I'll admit this one's hot track. As much as Game sucks he's good on the chorus. If ya'll ain't noticed yet though, listen to the beat and listen to Lil' Kim's flow. She's stealing Eminems flow from "The Way I Am". Good track though... 13. Durty - he can't do reagae... Skip... 14. Answer Machine Skit 2. - Man these are pointless skits... So you're going to jail, what are you trying to do?? Tell the world so many ppl love you because you set up a skit of calls?? 15. We Don't Give A F*** - Don't like the chorus, but the rappin' is good. The beat is sick... Kim's flow is sick... Bun B is okay... he sounds like Paul Wall though. And Twista is tight on it too. Hott track... 16. Gimme That - "Gimme That!" Haha... Maino's killing this track... Straight up! Kim's the sh!t on here too. This should be a single maybe. But I doubt the radio would really play it... Turn it up though! 17. Kitty Box - Haha all I gotta say DANG!!! This is freakin' hotttttt!!!! Beat is insane... Dang she sure makes you wanna picture stuff haha. 18. Kronik - Hmm... Not even sure why Snoop would be working with her... The beat's bangin though. Not sure I like the chorus... Flow is good. 19. Winner's And Loser's - Somebody shut this guy up... 20. Get Your's - This is on repeat. Everyone put 100% into this. Esp. T.I. Sick track. You can ride to this... 21. Last Day - Ah it's alright... Could do without it though... As for her phone convo at the end, why put that there? I'm not sure it deserves 5 mic's. It def. had some good tracks. I'd give it 4 mic's.

This is by far one of kim's best cd's. She keeps moving on and doing what she does best. She rhymes, she disses and she kills you 'til you're ill. That's the reason to why The Source gave her the "classic" 5 mic's rating for the album. She tells things how they are and they would be and reinforces the reason why she the Queen of Hip Hop. Too bad many people don't acknowledge much of the work because she a female. Most of this industry is overtaken and overplayed by the male personification of Hip Hop that make women like herself roll in the back seat. Nonetheless, I'm still hopeful that she gets another grammy nomination for this cd, which took a lot of hard work. Just like she got nominated for "Album of the Year" by the VIBE awards. Hope this year goes by with a quickness so she can give us another great album when she's out. P.S. Don't let this go unoticed only cuz the radio only plays 50 and them other overplayed rappers!!!
