Very good Phantasmata

Christopher Rouse is still alive today and, to me, is one of the best composers. Few composers could compose like he does. Phantasmata is performed very excellently, and I recomend this album for anyone who loves 20th century classical music. The second movement, "The Infernal Machine," is very well played. It is supposed to depict a machine moving and switching gears every now and then, and sometimes the leviathan groans and keeps moving. The third movement, "Bump", is refering to dance floor bumping and sometimes has a bass drum hit every four beats to represent a bump. Rouse thought of this movement to be a Boston Pops tour in Hell. The beginning represents the demons rising and eventually proceeds into a sort of bump on the dance floor. At times it can be very intense, but it is still very good. Especially if you're like me and you love intense classical music. Overall, this is a very good album and if you like 20th century classical music or if you like Rouse's orchestral works (especially his early ones), this is a very good album to buy.
