This is the first time I've heard Jim Kimo West's music and I'm blown away. His artistry and his expressivity shine on this album. The songs are beautifully recorded, the melodies and arrangements are memorable and inviting. I love the variety of genres covered - flamenco, middle eastern, hawaiian, to name a few. "El Alcazar," and "Mauna Kea" are two stand out tracks for me among a whole collection of masterpieces. New fan!

This album is relaxing and pleasant to listen to, It’s melodic and comforting; ‘MELE MENEHUNE’ takes you on a journey, such a lovely track. ‘SONG FOR FESS’ is an exceptionally well crafted tune, exquisite arrangement. I also loved ‘MORNING MUSIC’ and the energetic ‘EL ALCAZAR’. This record is an absolute gem!

Over the years I've watched Jim grow his slack key skills to become one of the leaders and innovators in the field. With Guitar Stories, he takes it up a notch, beyond just slack key, into other world realms that include Middle Eastern and classical. As usual, the production is superb, with Jim dedlivering one of the purest, most pristine acoustic guitar sounds around.

Like everything Jim West does, this album is great. His music is my personal daily soundtrack. P.S. If you haven't seen Jim perform with Weird Al Yankovic then you must go when you have a chance. It'll be the best time you've ever had at a show.
