This album is extremely creative in the sense that is tells the hypothetical, chronological story of a young, depressed, lost, drug addict who leaves his home town, meets a girl, and changes his life. It also sends a strong political message. The songs in this album are filled with raw emotion and it’s by far the band’s coolest sounding release. This specific version of the album also includes all of the songs in their original form, which I personally like.
(It also features “Wake Me Up When September Ends”, a song about Billie’s father dying of cancer in the artist’s youth. This happened in the month of September. After hearing this news, Billie locked himself in his room, and said to his mother: “Wake me up when September ends.” This is where the name comes from.)
You’ll enjoy listening to this album.
