Listening to Songs of a Lost World feels just as awesome and wonderful as the first time I listened to Disintegration - an all time favorite of mine regardless of genre. The subject matter hits home on so many levels. If you have experienced loss, give this a listen. Endsong is everything. Absolutely lovely work. Timely. Well done.
Legendary!!

After one listen to the new song made me feel like I was young again!! I’m revisiting everything from Three Imaginary Boys thru Bloodflowers. (Which is where I was) Honestly, I thought that was the last record. This new music is Beautiful! Looking forward to the new album. ❤️❤️ Update 11/1/24: Watching the livestream and absolutely amazing. This new record perfectly encapsulates the band’s entire career in 8 beautiful songs. Plus extra performances of classic Cure songs. Definitely worth the wait!!!
If anyone is interested, the live show is FREE to watch on YouTube!!!

We watched a generation grow up and live without security. Prepared for anything. The mysterious pleasure in listening to The Cure, retaining their reason and spiritual independence particularly in a period when confusion and madness are rampant. Not a roadmap, but stories of the journey. Then what? Never mind that, focus on the now, it’s all we have and it’s enough.

This just heir most consistent release. And it’s all morosely beautiful. The production is so 2024 and time jarring at first but it works. Bowie sideman gives them the needed punch he gave Bowie, which seems to have invigorated this band as well. Robert’s voice has never been better, his lyrics never drearier, and Simon’s bass never plunkier. It’s been 16 years and worth the wait.
What a Treat!

Really good songs across this album. Really digging A Fragile Thing amongst some of the other jewels.
It’s a dazzler.

I listened to “Songs…” once on YT and thought, “It’s very pretty, but I don’t need it.”
I then watched the dazzling live concert at London’s Troxy (1 NOV 2024) also on YT, during which they played the new album and then a selection of past songs - a three hour show. I realized that yes, I needed the album, and I cannot stop listening to it.
The songs live independently yet also function as a uniform work, saturated with aching melancholy and symphonic musicianship. I cherish this album already.
Amazing 🖤🖤🖤

Love The Cure. Alone and Endsong are deliciously dark and beautiful. The songs in between take you on a grittier journey. Love the harder guitar sound on parts of this album and how Robert’s voice just transcends time. Bravo!
Just what we needed

The heavy bass, the droning guitars, crisp drums, and the sweet keyboards provide the perfect basis for Robert Smith’s unique voice. The lyrics are introspective; as anyone would be when looking back on a chaotic life.
It's eerie how it sounds like a direct follow up to Disintegration

It's eerie how it sounds like a direct follow up to Disintegration. What a surprisingly fantastic album.
