  • It’s a dazzler.

I listened to “Songs…” once on YT and thought, “It’s very pretty, but I don’t need it.” I then watched the dazzling live concert at London’s Troxy (1 NOV 2024) also on YT, during which they played the new album and then a selection of past songs - a three hour show. I realized that yes, I needed the album, and I cannot stop listening to it. The songs live independently yet also function as a uniform work, saturated with aching melancholy and symphonic musicianship. I cherish this album already.

Love The Cure. Alone and Endsong are deliciously dark and beautiful. The songs in between take you on a grittier journey. Love the harder guitar sound on parts of this album and how Robert’s voice just transcends time. Bravo!

The heavy bass, the droning guitars, crisp drums, and the sweet keyboards provide the perfect basis for Robert Smith’s unique voice. The lyrics are introspective; as anyone would be when looking back on a chaotic life.
  • It's eerie how it sounds like a direct follow up to Disintegration

It's eerie how it sounds like a direct follow up to Disintegration. What a surprisingly fantastic album.

After The Cure’s last two efforts, I had reserved hopes for this album. I am very happy to say that my reservations were unwarranted. This album is great. From start to finish. Every song is great. This album has quickly become among my favorites. It might be my favorite since Disintegration, definitely since Bloodflowers.

Have been a fan of The Cure for many years and this album is up there with their best. I enjoyed every song on the first listen with And Nothing Is Forever being my favorite. So glad these guys are back. Fans have definitely missed them.

This has all the elements that make The Cure masters of their craft: dark melodies, virtuosic rhythms, poetic lyrics, a tinge of redemption.
  • Worth the wait

I've been waiting forever and it is totally worth it. It seems to be a companion to Disintegration but a reflection years later.
  • Love them
