Hooked On Swing

A month or so ago I was able to figure out how to purchase Hooked on Swing, Big Bands, Broadway, and Rogers and Hammerstein. Then I decided I should have also purchased Hooked on Astaire. It took me a while, and I needed Melissa's help, and this was accomplished a few days ago, and they all appear on my iPod!!!! I loved this music when it first came out back in the early 80s, but I had it on cassette, so it was a nice treat to see it in the iTunes store and be able to download it. These and many others are played when I am out walking, and it's hard to keep the feet at a walking gait when I hear these great versions of those old classics. My fellow walkers always give me a thumb's up when they see my arms and feet in time to whatever music they think I am listening too!!!

It was good! I'm HOOKED ON SWING!

This album is a fantastic sampler of lots of good swing music. The arrangements are clever, and I could listen to Larry Elgart's band play for hours! They have a crisp sound which is very refreshing. Whenever I visit my grandmother, we always sit around and listen to her records, and this has always been one of my favorites. Imagine my delight to discover it was available digitally on iTunes!

This album is what sparked my love for music at a very young age. When I was only a toddler, my grandpa would put on this album and dance with me and the other grandkids. That was 20 some years ago, and I still love this album. The first two tracks are great intro pieces to the whole "big band/swing" genre.
