If The Bass Guitar had Vocal Cords....meaning the most Human Voice of a Bass as possible...that would be Jaco Pastorius.
His life was troubled, Yes....But in it was a great Victory of Innovation.
There are some other great Bassists...many that have taken Jaco's Voice and expanded on it...But Jaco's Tone and Originality ...I.M.H.O....has yet to be topped.
