This sufjan Stevens Christmas album is excellent recorded from 2001-2006 i just think that songs for Christmas and his other Christmas album (silver and gold) are the best Christmas album ever i first heard this album like… oh god I don’t even remember maybe like when I was 2 if not even younger now at age 14 I still think that this album and silver and gold are still the best Christmas albums ever don’t hesitate to buy them just buy them because they are so good! There are some old familiar favorites like silent night, the little drummer boy along with some original songs like put the lights on the tree, that was the worst Christmas ever (my favorite Christmas song) etc but just buy this album along with silver and gold! Fun fact every year between 2001-2010 he would record these songs and give them to family members and then eventually released them officially to the public!

actually a masterpiece

So refreshing and beautiful to listen to. This album breathes fresh life into old favorites and brings new Christmas melodies to the table. I am one of the freaks who actually loves Christmas music (I cry during o Holy Night or God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen practically every time) --- but this is hands down my most favorite Christmas album. It even got my husband to like Christmas music on a 15 hour road trip home for the holidays. So that's sayin' something ;)

Most likely the best Christmas album I've ever purchased. I loved it so much I bought a couple over copies and gifted it to family member this Christmas and they loved it too! Sufjan is a genius, and this album is beyond awesome.

He has some originals that are very good, and then some classics that are amazing as well. One of the best music purchases I've ever made.

What can I say, I'm in love with this musician and his music always makes me think about a lot of things tat usually associate themselves in an interesting way with his songs. Now I can have an excuse to listen to his music even on the holiday season. This a bum should be an iTunes LP because the content that comes with it, might not be as great as the goodies that come in Songs for Xmas VOL II, but the essays alone are worth it all. if You can find yourself an actual copy of this album then get it instead of this one. but if you can't… then you must get this!

This album I could play on repeat for all of December. Seriously my favorite Christmas album. And now there's another one! This is a must have for Christmas music!

I wasn't into Christmas music that much - it's all the same. That was until I heard this album, now I can't wait to listen to Christmas Music and hate when it's time to quit listening. Sufjan's take on classics make them fun to listen to and the originals are now some of my favorite Christmas songs. Buy this album! At $15.99 it is a bargain!
