This is one of the most beautiful pieces in the genre, played by its most talented rising star, Tara. Ms. Kamangar transports us to a world both familiar and ethereal - in short, transcendental - in what has already become a modern classical hit. Bravo!

This compilation is instantly transporting. I listen to it in my car and it makes the unpleasantness of the world around me melt away. Tara Kamangar’s piano work is both lilting and masterful. I am truly surprised that some of these beautiful works do not get more attention in the classical world. The arrangements are perfection.

When I listen to East of Melancholy it is like I've never heard the piano played before. I am in awe that fingers touching ivory can create such vibration, sound and raw emotion. This album, quite literally, takes you on a journey where no passports are required. Favorites: Fantastic Dances Op. 2: No. 1, 2, 3, 4.

Loved it - both performance and the pieces that were selected. It was neat to hear pieces that aren’t yet part of the canon, but feel like they should be part of the same family as some of the more well-known romantic pieces in the album.
