I’m always curious when a band does an Unplugged album - it’s really interesting to see new interpretations of classic songs. Not only did Kinky reinvent some of their hits in stripped-down versions (a donde van los muertos, hasta quemarnos), but they put some really cool new songs and covers on this! This is a really solid album all around, but my favorites are probably Huracan and Para poder llegar a ti.

One word to describe this album, amazing. Two words to describe my excitement, Long-Overdue. This is a great Unplugged album, and shows how talented these guys are. It's not often that MTV Unplugged albums, as of late, sound this good. The special guests they bring on as well, compliment the tracks like hollandiase sauce compliments eggs benedict.
Get it and don't miss out!

I was excited to see Kinky not only do some of their hits, but also some unexpected covers on this one. Carla Morrison’s voice on A Donde Van Los Muertos is a very welcome addition to the song and she and Gil sound great together. :) I think my fave track is the super different, mellowed out version of Soun Tha Mi Primer Amor. That’s what Unplugged is all about folks! It’s a beautiful re-version. Overall, it’s a great testament to the history and talent of these guys.

Kinky MTV Unplugged is fantastic. Kinky's ability to rework some of their biggest hits, and some Mexican classics, into acoustic versions that are as good or better than the originals shows why they are the best band out of Mexico this century and one of the best live band in the world. The new songs written for this album are equally amazing and show Kinky's versatility and ability to write and record unique and innovative music. You will not be disappointed with this album, it will have you dancing with joy.
