What are ( or Who is) "2 Cello's?" Are they merely 2 acoustically mellow musical instruments the sounds of which are generated by a bow held in the hand opposite the hand which manipulates the strings along a 'board' somewhat similar in appearance to a fretboard on a guitar? In the hands of ummm... say YO YO MA this instrument is transformed into a gateway of a world filled with the sublime. We think of babbling brooks, waterfalls, sunrises and sunsets, and perhaps even lying down on a dark night void of light pollution and beholding the Awesome Wonder of a Creator Who could possess the power to create all of these wonders; and on top of that gift us with the splendor of music & and iTunes to make music so readily acquirable then WOW!!! Yeah, I get excited because as I watch endless science TV Shows. And without exception whenever a scientist used the words "Beauty, Sublime, Elegant, etc," He or She is 100% of the time referring to a mathematical equation. So, you must be thinking, what's all this gibberish to do with 2 Cellos?" We'll then . . . Here Goes: 1) Dare I touch bow to strings on any Cello I"d be lynched by the entire Hood. (& rightly so) 2) While my earlier description of 2 Cellos was indeed correct; 2 wooden instruments remain useless Unless taken into the hands of someone who can create artful Self-expression with them. And then to share that art in a relational Way with the society of which they Are a part, 3) 2 CELLOS is a hep new duo whose approach to playing their chosen Instrument is in itself quite daring. Not having heard much of their stuff I feel confident that will not Disappoint. While their weapons are acoustic their record is definitely NOT! These guys are backed by musicians packing beacoup amps. 4) About Yo Yo Ma < > About 2 Cellos Different styles...(I grew-up on Rock, Soul, Classic Rock [that whole '60s thing], both artfully creative. And in the end I give 2 Cellos the highest possible rating for talent, originality, and because they are another band that confirms that whatever awesome, necessary Self-Existent Being created all time, space (time-space), and matter in the universe, It must be a Personal Being. Why, because it becomes very clear that this Being truly digs music! That is too awesome to comprehend. Just like when you call your buddy and tell him about this awesome new band you just found on iTunes; The Creator has made certain that we would have music here during our lives on earth. And any artist that can communicate on that level is a 5 Star Artist! So get 2 Cellos on the download, plug-in the earbuds, and enjoy. ~ digheyseus
