  • Wonderful Performance and Recording

I came accross this album by accident a few years ago. This seems to be not that well known of an album, however it is a wonderful example of Respighi's Rome Cycle. The Orchestra plays the piece passionatly but accurately, and the recording engineers did a superb job - nothing feels as though it was overaltered or added during mastering. This should be a standard must have album in any musicians' repertoire - if you are looking for a prime example of how these pieces should be interpreted (thanks in great part to Maestro Maazel) and performed, look no further!
