Beautiful and moving lyrics. I newly discoverd the band and love the sound, not sure of the history of the band but this is definitely very soulful and touching music.

Greatest Album Yet

October Project is a one of a kind band that creates music unlike anything I’ve ever heard. I heard "Different Eyes" before I ever heard the old stuff, and I really love it. The old stuff is great too - I'm a songwriter so I appreciate how strong the material is. And “Different Eyes” brings out the beautiful harmony of voices as on the previous albums, but more strongly and with a focus on Marina Belica as a shimmering lead singer and Julie Flanders' dusky alto behind her like a cello. Some may say that they miss Mary Fahl’s booming thunder, but I feel as though she sounded too thick and overwrought. “Different Eyes” is a testament to the fact that Marina Belica is fundamental to the sound that is October Project . I see why other people like the 90's albums, but I really prefer the newer version, maybe because I wasn't even alive yet when the first album came out. I look forward to hearing their latest upcoming album and really like the piano vocal versions I've heard on YouTube so far.
Not the October Project I Used to Know

This new record is a good effort and Emil is still a great songwriter. Sadly, Mary was their heart and soul, and the songs feel flat and emotionless without Mary. They have no soul.
October Project Alchemy

Life moves on and OP moved on. The world is a better place with the music of the core musicians behind the original October Project in the world, than if they were not gracing us with their creations. Mary moved on and is also making the world a more harmonious place. We can all hope for a day when, perhaps, these talents might re-combine, if egos can be put aside. The dynamic interplay between the members of the original OP band was so unique that we all lost with its dissolution. October project was an alchemical cohobatio; a synergistic elixir vitae that could never have existed if it were not for the magic latent within ALL of its members.
We should all consider ourselves lucky to have drunk so deeply of their first two albums — a musical quinta essentia.
Lament not, for the past is behind us. Time cannot be rewound. A new Phoenix rises, and still shimmers of gold. The new sound is not as large, but it is nevertheless a refined chalice, brimming with a uniquely satisfying counterpoint and still tastes of the Adler-Flanders harmonic elixir vitae. I will drink deeply.
October Project lives. Long live October Project!
Beautiful Direction for October Project

October Project's "Different Eyes" keeps its focus on what the band is all about: intertwining carefully crafted language with subtly powerful harmony. Unlike efforts by other bands that have rearranged after a hiatus, "Different Eyes" shows that if a group's core focus is on producing great music, everything will fall into place. The sound is not so much a departure from their past work as it is a refocus on the band's musical purpose. And, as that founding members Adler, Flanders, and Belica remain the heart of the band, any OP fan--or anyone looking for a spiritual, distinguished experience--will love this album.
No Mary Fahl though Zardoz

Mary Fahl, the original singer of October Project, of which whom gave them their unique sound, is no longer with the group. Yes they are still together and play in Boston at small cafe's from time to time, but what was once is no longer. The group originated from Maine btw.
Good lyrics/Bad lead singer

The lyrics are amazing as usual, but the lead singer is just not cutting it. Her voice is not expressive---she just cannot capture the depth of the music. I am sure the band can find a better singer out there somewhere, since they cannot have Mary fahl. More power to the songwriters---you inspire me!
very disapointing

The song musically and lyrics are great, but Marina Belica voice can not give these songs that emotional, sultry, and other worldly sound October Project’s other two albums. The reason for this is that for October Project to have their original great sound they need Mary Fahl back as the lead singer. Marina Belica would be a great back up singer but not a lead singer, sorry guys, not downloading this cd.
Not the same...

The worst thing October Project did was let Mary Fahl slip away when they refused to let her write music for the band. While the lyrics and music by Adler and Flanders are as hypnotic as ever, the songs are just not the same and do not carry the same weight without Fahl's haunting vocals. As Fahl has proven with her first solo album, "The Other Side Of Time", she can pen a tune with the best of them.
