Having heard this new album on the JASON BENTLY RADIO SHOW(KCRW 88.9 FM)the week that “our hitler”donald j.trump was inaugurated as DER FURHER to a bunch of stupid,po-dunk ,southern-centric white American pseudo Christians,I was struck by how each song seemed to be a kind of MINI-OPERA,depicting the TRAGI-COMEDY OF THE DEATH OF AMERICA millennial style.this is a VISION ALBUM with sharp teeth and a very long reach.yet,in the tradition of THE FLAMING 👄 LIPS BEST WORK,is never preachy, only so,so right!

Love the soundscape, but...

I really love the soundscape on this album, and I love "experimental" music in general, but songwriting is still a critical component, and this is lacking in that. Big potential unrealized. Think Cocteau Twins or Flume buried in oatmeal.

O Cozy Melody

Yeah, I know thats not what The Lips were calling it, but thats what I’ve been referring to it as, and after giving it an undivided attention listen through I can say it kinda is a cozy melody. Some people liken it to Radiohead, i think it almost sounds like old Nine Inch Nails but with the crust cut off. All in all it is maybe a good playlist for an acid trip.
Best In Years

This to me is the best album they have done in years! A throw back to earlier days, yet there is a finger on today's music. There are creative melodies. There are the "old" familiar moods. Variety. I do find myself putting it on more and more.....
Refreshing soundscape!

I've been a music hound for many decades, and I'm old enough to have some perspective about "albums" that just exist and albums that cement their place into peoples' hearts and minds. While 'Oczy Mlody' isn't quite in the same league as 'Yoshimi Battle The Pink Robots,' it nevertheless comes across as impressive as hell. I'm not sure why some of the early reviews are so negative. I find this album to be more fresh and bold AND accessible than anything the Lips have put out since Yoshimi. I just bought the album yesterday and I've listened to the entire album 3 times. I am finding it more enjoyable with each listen, even the last track with Miley Cyrus. I'm definitely NOT a Miley fan, but that aside, I think that track, as well as the entire album, deserve fairly high praise. I wouldn't say there's a single blockbuster track, but as is the case with several of the all-time great albums, the whole is greater than the sum of its parts. I wouldn't put this in the "all-time greats" category (Dark Side of The Moon, Yoshimi, Wrecking Ball, OK Computer, So, etc.), but it's a very strong and meaningful effort, in my humble opinion.

Not bad but not that good either. Sort of boring. Embryonic is better. So is the terror.

Easily their worst album, why would such titans of the music industry let a disaster like Do Glowy exist?
